Liam led the mare to her stall on a loose rein, her hooves sounding loudly against the concrete aisleway. As they approached her stall, she tugged against the boys hold, anticipating the pile of hay that had been left for her. With a sharp word and a tug on the rein, Azzi lowered her head again and dropped back to walk obediently beside her owner. As he untacked her outside the stall door, she stood stock-still, her ears merely twitching back and forth. Liam lowered the bridle over her head and she dropped the bit, letting out a sigh of relief as the Pelham left her mouth. Clucking to her, Liam shooed the bay into her stall and she went gratefully. Her bridle over his shoulder, Liam walked out of the barn, leaving his mare to eat in peace.
