A duo consisting of a fiery chestnut mare and a brunette woman crested the hill and made for the white-fenced near pasture that housed the mares and geldings. It was currently unoccupied, yet not for long.
The woman, known infamously as Gigi, unlatched the gate and led Inkki through, letting the mare go free as the leather halter slipped away from her chestnut face.
Soft, brown eyes scanned the terrain. Then stone gray hooves beat the earth rhythmically as she trotted in the direction of an inviting patch of clover.

Michael clicked his tongue sfotly at the golden colored mare, who promtly looked at his and pushed her muzzled against his shoulder. "We're almost there." he assured her, and she bobbed her head. As they neared the white pastured fence, Michael smiled. He opened the gate and removed the halter from Dime's delicate head. She leaned away and as soon as she was free, took off at a canter. Michael sook his head and walked towards the fence. He swung a leg over the side and sat there for a moment, taking in the veiw.

Inkki grazed contentedly, streaked sash flicking every so often at a pest that flew about her pelt. The chestnut coloring gleamed under the warm sun.
Slowly, she lifted her head, brown gaze scanning the frame of a mare that had just been released into the open field.
Inked kissers parted fervently, a nicker escaping her lips. She shifted her hooves anxiously, flicking her tail in beckoning to the other. Audits swiveled gently, engulfing the sound of birdsong in the canopy of willows and spruce that bordered the fresh-painted fences.

Dime slowed to a trot and shook her head, white mane snapping against her neck. She stopped and looked about her, searching for another of her kind to converse with. Gentle eyes landed on Inkkie and a whinny passed her lips. She walked towards the other mare and then stopped a few paces, in case Inkkie felt like being alone. Dime gave another friendly call and bobbed her head.

Inkki lifted her head again, shaking her crown so that her sorrel forelock fell before her soft, brown optics. She snorted softly, bobbing her head in greeting to the other.
'Lo.
Her voice was kind, gentle, inviting. She let her nape fall into an arch and nipped at the shoots that grew to her knees to pass the time.

Dime, at the invitation, moved forward till she was in front of Inkki. She rested her weight on three hooves, letting the tip of her back right hoof rest on the ground. "Hello m'dear." A mix of a british accent with a bit of the rough of of arabic tinted her tone, making her seem motherly and gentle, which she was.

Inkki's brow arched slightly as her face was lifted back to full height. She eyed the mare carefully, thoughtfully, from the stance she took on to the way her pelt glistened in the sun.
Inked lips parted eagerly to counter-attack the pet name, but she scolded herself quickly, restraining herself.
I believe I have not seen you around before? Might you be new, or am I just older than I thought?
She slid a fake smile over her kind face, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly.

Dime gave a kind smile and shook her head. "No, I am new and you couldn't be that old." Dime replied repectively. She toke a few steps back and lowered her golden head to nip at the blades of grass beneith her. "My name is Dime." she said as she raised her head. She seemed to almost sense the fake smile pastered on the other mare's face.

Inkki nodded in thanks to the kind comment, letting herself relax a bit. She too cocked a hind flint in warning, and resumed hr nipping thoughtfully at the patch of clover, though fully alert to the other's words.
When the other had finished speaking, Inkki lifted her fascade slightly. Dime. She rolled the word around in her mind for a moment, as if tasting it, and then continued.
The full name my human gave me is My Heart in Red Inkk, but she calls me mostly by Inkki unless it is a special occasion. You may do so as well. I have been at Fox Run for quite a while; I've lost count of the years. But you have nothing to worry about. The human folk are kind and gentle, and we are well taken care of.
She nodded in contempt, but this time stood at full height and waited for Dime's reply.

Dime nodded and nibled at the grass. "I'm sure they are, as they have been so far to me and Eagle." dime replied, giving a gentle smile.
Dime riased ehr head and snorted gently. "My human's full name for me is Dime Store Candy." she smied and shook her head "Though she hardly ever calls me that."

Liam led Shadowcat up to the gate of the pasture, the arabian cross mare dancing on the end of her lead. -Hold on silly- He muttered, going through the gate with the four year old horse. Cat strained against the lead, calling out in excitement to Inkki and Dime who were already out in the field. -Be nice, alright?- Liam growled, as he unbuckled her halter. Cat snorted and wheeled around, galloping off to join the other horses. Liam watched for a moment, before leaving, closing the gate behind him.
Cat trotted briskly up to the two other mares, occasionally letting loose a buck. -Hey!- She nickered, dark eyes friendly. She was younger then most of the other horses at Fox Run Downs, at the age of only four years, causing her to often get reprimended by the older horses.

Inkki looked up at another equid who had been released into the Near Pasture to join them. Brown gaze swept the field intently, following the Arab mare through her bucks, rears, bolts and nickers, until she came up beside them.
She tilted her crown kindly in greeting to the younger mare, side-stepping to make room for her into their little group.
'Ello, there, dear. My, my, you have quite a lot of energy there, don't you? What do they call you?
she cooed gently, tossing her head slightly to rid her facade of a fly. Streaked cord slapped her gaskins in a bored manner as she awaited the hesitant mares to speak up.

Cat snorted and lifted her head aloft, slightly annoyed at being talked to as if she were a mere filly. She was a full four years old and deserved to be treated like it. -I am Shadowcat,- she whinnied, tossing her darker grey mane. -You may call me Cat, however.- She added as she lowered her head to snatch up a mouthful of lush green grass before returning her attention to the mares. As for the fact that I have energy, don't you think it's better to spend free time playing, as opposed to standing around talking? You can talk anytime.- She finished before nipping Inkki's flank in hopes of enticing the older mare to play.

Inkki tossed her sorrel mane, raising a brow in slight irritants, though her expression was somewhat defeated before the mare's comment. Cocking a hind hoof in warning, she tipped her crown to the left only slightly.
Energy is easy to come by; it's the drive that is so easily lost. I prefer to save mine for the ring, though I do agree that some time running about like a new-born filly without a human perched in the arch of your back is somewhat satisfying,
she lectured, brown gaze sweeping the open acres behind Shadowcat.
