The young eighteen year-old girl walked up to her spoiled horse. "You ready to start training again Molly?" Ava Vandria asked, Australian accent heavy on her words. She didn't speak much Ozzie slang, having to explain got boring. Reaching out, she scratched the two-year-old's ear.
Molly snorted and nipped at Ava's arm, then settled for nuzzling her shoulder. Ava stepped back, well aware that the pesky pony would try to bite her next. "No, bad girl," Ava chastised, tapping her muzzle away. Taking the lead rope, she clipped it under Molly's jaw, where the metal ring was located.
The horse snorted uncertainly, still not liking the rope. She had at one level--accepted the fact that the rope would be used to make her follow. Taking with her a saddle, Ava lead the horse to the round pen at a brisk walk. Tying the lead rope on the fence, she set the saddle down and messed with the wristbands around, go figure, her wrists.
Going back into the barn, she carried back outside with her a grain sack, filled. It was around fifty pounds. Molly swung her hindquarters around to watch Ava intently with her brown eyes. Ava worked quietly, taking the saddle and setting it on Molly’s back, talking softly to her. Once the girth was fastened to Ava’s liking, she led Molly inside the pen and tied her up again.
”We’re going to try something different today girl,” Ava announced, still speaking softly. Bringing the feed sack into the pen, she approached Molly slowly, setting the sack on the saddle. Molly quivered under Ava’s touch and skirted away from the sack. ”C’mon girl, it’s not going to hurt you,” Ava coaxed. After a couple more minutes of coaxing, she got Molly to flick her ears to her and listen intently, ignoring the sack completely.
”Now We’re getting somewhere,” Ava muttered, tying the sack on her back and slowly untying the lead rope. ”Oh quit that! You can still walk with a couple more pounds on your back!” Ava exclaimed, clucking her tongue and snapping her left fingers. Molly’s ears flicked back and forth and she took a step forward, then tossed her head and snorted, irritated. Ava glared back at her. ”Fine, don’t trust me then,” she replied, rambling on about something that happened yesterday, watching Molly.
The horse turned her head to watch her owner, and flicked her ears forward, listening closely. After a while she whickered softly, and started walking around the pen as Ava clicked her tongue once again. A grin spread across Ava’s face at Molly’s response. Every once in a while the horse would balk and refuse to continue on with the sack on the saddle, but soon enough she’d start up again. ”Yup, It’s going to be a long day, Molly.”

As Becca neared the round pen, she stopped and listened intently. The gentle sounds of a horse and it's trainer made her smile. Under her, Dime gave a gentle cough and shook her elegantly carved head. Becca sat on Dime's wide golden bare back while a silver studded western bridled curved around Dime's ears, which were cocked forward at the sound of another horse. Becca neared the pen, but stayed out, giving the younger horse the space they needed.

Ava was so intently tuned out of everything happening outside of the pen she didn't notice the small audience she had aquired. Molly, on the other hand, had noticed and tossed her head a few times to show off. Ava lifted her gaze, and saw Becca and Dime and her face flushed lightly.
A sly grin crossed her face and she turned her attention back to Molly, tugging on the rope to get her to stop. Molly snorted then lifted her head to nicker at Dime. Walking over to Molly, Ava took her halter and led her over to the fence and half waved at Becca.
"Hello," she greeted, smiling at the two. "I'm Ava," she introduced herself and ran her hand along Molly's shoulder absentmindlessly, watching Dime. "Pretty horse you have," she complimented.

Becca smiled and patted Dime's neck. "My pride and joy." she said, leaning back and resting a hand on Dime's hindqauters. Dime raised her head and gave a gentle nicker to the young mare, bobbing her head in welcome. "Same to you."

Ava led Molly out of the pen, holding the horse's halter with one hand and the lead rope with the other. "This lil'rascal's name is Molly, this is around the third time I put the sack on her back," she paused and shook her head, "She always acts like she's never seen it before."
She looked Dime over quickly then rested her gaze at Becca. "Do you compete with her?" she questioned, backing Molly up a few steps as she tried to loosen Ava's grip. Muttering something under her breath, the girl patted the horse's nose and looked back at Becca and Dime.

Becca nodded, a broad smile on her face. "Yeah. We do stadium jumping and barrel racing. We've done jumping even since I was eleven, but barrel racing's new. My brother's teaching us, whne he has free time from trainer students here." Becca explained, patting Dime's neck, who was watching teh antics of Molly with curious eye.
Dime extended her head juts a bit and gave a soft whiney to Molly.

Ava returned the smile, then turned Molly around and tied the rope on the fence. "Whose your brother?" Ava asked curiously, taking the sack off the saddle and setting it down. "I think I'm going to see if I can get Molly to barrel race, she has the speed for it, no doubt, she's calm-ish today," Ava paused, then frowned slightly, "Well calm for her..."
Molly turned her head around and flicked her ears toward Dime. She responded to the whiney with a whicker of her own, stomping her foot and swinging her hindquarters. Ava put her hand on her hindquarters to get her to stop and then put her hands on her back, pressing down and watching her carefully. Molly snorted and hit the ground with a hoof. "Ever break a horse before?" Ava inquired, leaning against the fence.

Becca reached into her back pocket and pulled out a photo of Michael, one her friend's back home made him look quite good. She handed the photo over to Ava and patted Dime's neck. "I had to break Dime here, but it wasn't that hard. She's a really sweatheart." Becca said, letting ehr reisn slacken and letting Dime rubbed her nose on the dirt.
OoC: The photo, by the way, is the one in my siggy.

Ava moved forward and took the photo from her. Her left brow rose up slowly, looking at the photo. She turned it over in her hand, seeing if anything was written on the back, then looked at him again. She turned the photo toward Molly as the filly nipped at her elbow.
Molly stretched her neck out and tried to take a bite out of the photo, but Ava moved out of the way and handed the photo back to Becca. "I think i've seen him around here before," she commented. She watched Dime with a slightly amused look, before asking, "Is Dime your only horse?"

"His name's Michael. Like I said earlier, he's the barrel Racing trainer." Becca explained, taking the photo back. Dime rasied her head and snorted at Molly, dust from her nose flying towards her. "Yeah, she's my only baby. Michael has a stallion named Eagle, a gray Quarter horse mustang cross." Becca said, leaning back again.

Ava nodded after she spoke. "After I get Molly use to me in the saddle I'll probably be talking to him," she said, watching Molly. "What do you think?" Ava asked, turning toward Becca, "Think she'll let me in saddle soon?"
"I have a gelding, Prince, he's a real beauty," Ava said proudly, grinning. "I'll probably have to get someone to compete with him," she mused, mostly to herself.

Becca nodded. "He's a good trainer, if I do say so myself." Becca said. "As for Molly leting you in the saddl,e that's for you to decide. Every horse is diffrent." Becca said.

Ava nodded. "He probably is," she agreed, frowning slightly in thought. "I think she's ready..." she muttered, watching the horse stomp the ground and swish her tail. She looked over at Becca. "Hey, could you hold Molly's halter for me?" she asked, now grinning.

Becca nodded and moved Dime forward to stand next to Molly. Becca leaned down and gently toke the halter. She murmured gently to Molly, scratching her cheek with ehr free hand. Dime raised her head and whickered to Molly, almost comforting. "There." Becca said gently. "Go ahead and try."

Ava smiled her thanks and placed her hand on the saddle horn, and her foot in the sturrup carefully. She placed her weight carefully onto Molly's back. Molly snorted uncertainly, and nickered back at Dime, jerking her head a bit. Ava spoke quietly, slipping her leg over to the other side of the saddle and took hold of her mane. After calming Molly down, the horse hit the ground with her hoof. A proud grin crossed Ava face, "Thanks Becca," She said gratefully.

Liam walked up to the round pen and leaned against the fence, interested in what the girls were doing. He had broken in Azzi himself and knew how long and frustrating it could be. Ava seemed to know what she was doing.
When he had first tryed breaking in Azalea, he had been completely oblivious, though as stubborn as he was, he had refused all help. That had caused everything to end nearly in disaster, though he had managed to sort everything out alright. However he had done much better with his newer mare, Cat, whom was now broken in and had started her show-jumping training.
Shaking away bad memories, he focused his attention back on the pair of girls and horses in the ring.

Becca let the halter goo and moved Dime away a bit. Dime snorted encouragingly to Molly and bobbed her head. "Don't thank me. You did this yourself and did a great job." Becca told her, watching Molly with a catious but calm eye, just in case the filly should decide to bolt.

Ava leaned forward slowly, stroking Molly's neck and taking the reigns with one hand. Molly snorted and backed a few paces, flicking her ears back. "Whoa, hang on girl," Ava cooed softly, steadying the horse and grinning at Becca. "You still helped, having Dime alongside Molly helps too," she commented. Her gaze flicked over to the fence where Liam was, and she nodded in greeting, not wanting to risk letting go of Molly's mane or the reigns in case the filly decided to run.

Becca nodded and patted Dime's neck. She smiled and moved Dime forward a few steps at a walk. Dime bobbed ehr ehad at her new friend wishign for her to follow. "Dime's every other horse's self appointed mother. She even watches out for Eagle soemtimes, oddly enough." Becca explained in a gentle tone.

Liam watched a moment longer, looking for tricks he could pick up the next time he was breaking a horse in. Then, with a sigh, he glanced at his watch and realised he need to go feed his mares fairly soon. As unobserved as he had been when he approached, he walked away silently, making his way down to the East Barn.
